Today’s story is a fascinating one. It traces Harinath’s determination and journey from rags to riches. His family requirement was such that Harinath had to start working from eighth grade itself. After their father’s death, Harinath, his siblings, and their mother came out of the joint family. They were living a life of hardships, but Harinath’s determination took him from one level of success to another.
Hard Working Harinath
Harinath’s determination is what gave him the courage to pursue his studies while earning a living. He gave all his exams privately while working as a water wash boy at the ESI Hero Honda showroom in Hyderabad. It was his first job, where he earned 80 rupees per bike. Harinath worked hard at his job and progressed to a mechanic. While this was going on, Harinath did not neglect his studies.
His determination fueled his hard work, and the boy completed the first year of his intermediate. He was earning a thousand rupees at that point. During his second year, Harinath encountered a man who boosted his progress to the next level. Harinath could never imagine how his life was going to change.
A Life-Changing Conversation
Prasad, who met Harinath at the Hero Honda showroom, was surprised at what he saw. He was surprised at the fact that such an intelligent boy was working as a mechanic. A casual conversation between the two threw open many facts. Harinath realized that Prasad was a personal assistant to none other than filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. On the other hand, Prasad came to know about Harinath’s pitiful financial condition.
Prasad’s kindness compelled him to help Harinath. He immediately got him a job as an office boy at the famous director’s office. Being a fan of RGV, Harinath’s joy knew no bounds. The next day, he went to the office and learned his duties. This time his salary was 2500. When Harinath saw Mr. Varma for the first time, he met with another famous Tollywood director – Mr. Krishna Vamsi. Harinath was thrilled to be seeing the celebrities who could be seen only on TV till now.
When Mr. Varma’s eye caught sight of the new cleaner in the office, he called him. An obedient Harinath went to Mr. Varma and had a chat with the director. The way Harinath spoke reflected his determination to achieve something in life. Two days later, the generous director, knowing Harinath’s family situation, called him again.
This time he instructed Prasad to increase Harinath’s salary to 3500 rupees. Not only this, but Mr. Varma also lent financial help to Harinath in completing his BCA and MCA from Avanthi College. Harinath didn’t take the director’s help for granted by accepting charity. He repaid the loan by doing his best at the job. Harinath’s hard work and determination were paying off well.
Discovery Of A Hidden Photographer
Under the guidance of Mr. Ram Gopal Varma, Harinath was learning tricks of surviving in the Telugu Film Industry. His interest in photography gave Harinath another set of opportunities. He would go on film sets to click photographs. Although the pay was not consistent, he enjoyed pursuing his passion.
Alongside this, Harinath began pursuing a web designing course in Image Multimedia on Mr. Varma’s advice. With the financial requirements increasing at home, Harinath started hunting for jobs. As soon as he completed a web designing course, he secured a job at Iris Infotech. His starting salary was 25,000 rupees, which later increased. It was again the magic of Harinath’s tireless determination.
Destiny’s Constant Test
With this, he was in a position to get his elder sister married. Although he was earning, an event like a wedding required him to loan from a family friend. The generous man charged only a rupee per month as interest. There is no shortage of good people on Earth. Just when things seemed to be going well, the cloud of hardships re-entered Harinath’s life. He got his younger sister married luxuriously. The family spent 12 lakhs on the wedding.
More Hard Work, More Determination
Does a luxurious wedding guarantee a happy life ahead? Unfortunately, it doesn’t. Harinath’s little sister came back to him with a massive loan in her name. Her husband sent her back, agreeing to accept her only when a loan of 30 lakhs. The desperate need to clear this debt took Harinath away from his family. He found a job in Dubai as a web designer. Here he earned one lakh rupees. As usual, Harinath could never enjoy his earnings. He sent the entire amount home to clear the debt. A hard-working Harinath, driven by his determination, pushed himself to work beyond his limits.
Harinath worked as a web developer five days a week. He spent the weekend cleaning 10-12 buses for extra income. He earned 4000 rupees per bus, and the lucky guy secured a contract of 20 buses.
Powered by his determination, Harinath cleared 20 lakhs of the debt. He was sure that another year of separation from his family would remove the burden of debt for life. However, fate had more twists planned in Harinath’s story. His contract with the current employer ended. Hard work, determination, and luck seem to go hand-in-hand. Harinath found a new job within no time. His new job was only for three months, but it allowed him to travel. He went to countries like Thailand as a trainer in web designing. Harinath got international exposure along with income.
Passion Opens New Avenues
At the end of this contract, Harinath came to Vizag and got a job at Miracle Software. After a two-year stint in Vizag, Harinath found a better job at Mumbai. While so much was happening, Harinath’s passion for photography was still with him. This passion took him to a photography event where Karishma Mehta’s team spotted him. She is the CEO of Humans Of Bombay. She and her team loved his photographs so much that they included him in their team.
Inspired by the idea behind Humans Of Bombay, Harinath wanted to create something of his own. It gave birth to Humans Of Vizag. It has unique stories of citizens of that city. Famous stories also include that of the Queen of Hawa Mahal in Vizag. Only the future can reveal where Harinath’s determination will take him. All we know is that it is not the end of his story.
