Ashish Tewari Story

Aarav had a normal childhood like most of us. As he was growing up, he realized that he loved to read books. And this habit of reading almost every kind of book led to him discovering his passion for writing. He specifically loved reading poetry collections and philosophical books.

Soon, he started reading veterans’ poetry and researching about them in a pursuit to imbibe their skills and thought processes. It fueled his passion for writing poetry. He was motivated to send one of his poetries to a poetry clubhouse in Delhi named ‘The Social House.’ His poetries were so well-liked by the club that he was invited to present his poetry there.

Motivated and charged up post his return from Delhi, Ashish started writing more and more poetry. In 2020, due to the widespread of Covid-19, a nationwide lockdown was announced. While many of us were wary of the lockdown, Ashish dedicated more of his time to writing poetry. He compiled all of the poetries and sent them to several publishing houses, and after that, his book was published by Nitya Publications Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

People liked his poetry very much, and during the lockdown period, his book got published, making him a published author. The book’s name written by Ashish is ‘Mere Khayal.’ Ashish received a lot of praise from many news portals and established websites. Ashish got recognized in the famous Hindi newspaper and website Amar Ujala as well. His book is also available for readers to read on Amazon Kindle. Apart from being a published author, Ashish also works as a freelance language translator and provides home tuitions to school-going children. He also has his very own youtube channel.

A significant hurdle that Ashish faced was that there was nobody to guide him about writing. He had to learn everything himself through constant research.

Ashish says that his family, relatives, friends, and community members have supported him greatly. He can pursue his passion and earn so much praise only because of his family’s support. Veteran and versatile poets like Tehzeeb Hafi, Munawar Rana, Rahat Indori, John Aeliya, and Ali Zarioun are his constant source of motivation. He often reads their poetry and aspires to be like them.

Ashish strongly emphasizes the habit of regular reading and writing. He says, “the habit of reading and writing can give you a deep look into the knowledge provided by the authors through their books. It is because your imagination while reading books takes you to several places and sometimes, in an unknown world!”

Ashish also says that everyone doesn’t need to be a good writer from the very beginning. One should not be judgmental towards their writing, whether it is good or bad. It is essential to express thoughts through a medium lest they get buried away and lost.

Before sharing it with others, one should write down their thoughts and experiences in diaries and books. Diaries and books always act as best friends as they take all of your emotions within them without sharing it with anyone else.

Ashish believes that if one wants to pursue and achieve what they want, they should conduct thorough research and take the necessary steps towards it. Significantly, the first step is tough to take, but you have stepped on the road of your actual journey when you take that one step.

So don’t hesitate about what ‘people will say, take your first step, and everything else will fall in place. Just like it did for ‘Aarav,’ Ashish Tewari – an upcoming poet and writer!
