We all enjoy living in a world of reels so much. Be it the classic Mahabharata serial, or be it the series of Marvel Avengers. There is something for everyone on the screen, be it young or old. The stories we witness on the screens are fascinating, and so are the people’s life stories who enact these stories.
Today we share the story of Satish Patel, a.k.a Satyyaa Patel, a young model and actor. He has made his appearance on numerous fashion shows and played a lead role in the “Black Sadi” web series. He was born in Maharashtra and later shifted to Vadodara, Gujrat. Despite not having any firm background in the field, he stood strong and earned a name for himself in this field. In 2016 he stepped into modeling, and his acting career began in 2019 with a Hindi short film named “Regret – No chance for remorse.”
Transforming passion into profession
Since my childhood, I have been very fond of acting. During my school days, I participated and played roles in annual functions whenever an opportunity knocked on my door. I had already decided to color this passion into a profession after finishing my education. Thus, I tried my luck in modeling and acting. But practically, it is a challenge these days to step into modeling without any contacts or a strong background in this field.
After my education, I had a 9 to 6 job, but I wasn’t satisfied. Instead of doing this job, I felt that I should do something that would add happiness and joy to my life. Something that would guide me to find a beautiful meaning in life.
Thus, I got determined to focus upon this passion. I started to find people and agencies that were related to this field in my city Vadodara. The first opportunity knocked on my doors in 2016 when I came across the news about the fashion show contest—auditions for the same in my city. I participated in the show, and on the same day, I got the great news that I was selected for the finale.
Further, I attended their grooming sessions as well, and with time my skills sharpened. That’s how I got into this field of modeling.
After that, I started participating in various shows. In 2018, I received the Title of Mr. Gujarat fashion stylist 2018. It was indeed a great stepping stone, after which, along with increasing popularity, I started getting many assignments as well.
Guiding lights
I don’t have any specific role model in my life, but I’m incredibly inspired by the genuine efforts that people put in to reach the pinnacle. I follow Rohit Khandelwal, Ayushman Khurana, Kartik Aryan, and Vicky Kaushal because these celebrities are truly self-made stars of this generation.
The turning point of the life of Satish Patel
The turning point of my life was when I decided to quit the job and venture into acting. That whole phase was very challenging, complex, and unpredictable. But as they say that during the challenging times, we receive blessings, the same was true for me.
I met some people who stood by my side through all the difficulties since the time I started in this field, who supported me to keep myself working in this field. These people are indeed the angels of my life. My family supported me every time I needed them. I am thankful for the significant contribution that they’ve made in my life.
Life after pursuing the dreams
My life before I started as a model was quite different than how it is now. I acknowledge that after being in this field, my life has taken a tremendous positive turn. I am happier and more satisfied with the work I do. Apart from that, when I was doing a regular job, people didn’t know me for something unique. But as I stepped into the field of modeling, I got this recognition from people who surrounded me. Also, my social connections were enhanced, and I got opportunities to meet and learn from various people.
Initially, when my family came to know about my idea of stepping into modeling, they were not entirely convinced. They were concerned about my future, as there was a lot of unpredictability during that period. But now, in the light of my accomplishments in the field, they stand by my side. They have trust in me that my decision was correct and I would grow well in this field. So, I witnessed that extraordinary change as I made progress.
In my opinion, the best part about being an actor is that we get a chance to play with a plethora of roles and emotions. Many people aren’t aware of the presence of these emotions and are stuck. In the roller coaster ride of emotions, they often fail to experience its beauty. However, being an actor, I can dive into the roles and experience the beauty of all the characters’ emotions.
When budding actors and models ask me about how to become successful, I emphasize three basic things. They are Self-confidence, Dedication, and Patience. These things are necessary to achieve their goals, not just in the field of modeling but in any other field. Having good looks and personality comes secondary, but these three qualities matter the most in achieving success.
Awards and achievements
Speaking of my accomplishments, I am a Recipient of Title “Mr. Gujarat Fashion Stylist” of the year 2018 by SR Runway Production in Gujarat. I have done many fashion show events as different profiles as a jury member, show stopper, etc.
Also, I was a jury member for Face of Vadodara 2019 by Inorbit Mall, MaxIndiaFashion’s Little Icon 2019, Glamour of Gujarat Season 2, Gujarat’s got talent-1, Finale Jury of the next Supermodel of Gujarat 2020, and I was a jury of India’s Top Model 2021 during the Baroda Auditions.
As my journey progressed, I got a chance to do fashion show events with known celebrities like Mr. Sahil Khan, a Bollywood actor and youth fitness icon of India. Ms. Mamta Soni is a well-known Gujarati Film actress, Mr. Vikram Thakor a known Gujarati Film actor, and Mr. Javed Haider a Bollywood film actor. I also walked on the ramp for many designers in the Gujarat Fashion Industry.
In April 2021, I walked on the ramp as a show stopper for Bollywood designer Mr. Mahesh Kevadiya at the finale night of India’s Top Model 2021.
In acting, I have done with Gujarati Skit play Drama’ Narak Rachna’ and played a small Character role in Colors Gujarati TV Serial called ‘Kahu Chhu Sambhdo Chho.’ I have played the lead in a Hindi Short Film “Regret” and Hindi Web Series Red Prime Originals’ Black Sadi’ in movies.
In my opinion, my most significant achievement to date is getting nominations and being selected for receiving an award in July 2021 for the International Brilliance Award of Best Model of the year 2021 (State-wise Category).
Overcoming hurdles on the way
On this journey, I faced several challenges. I have faced rejection. I faced financial issues. When I started as a contestant in various shows, I didn’t achieve titles as many people were fixing the shows. After participating in 3-4 shows, I got demotivated and thought it was best to quit modeling. Many people were not honest, which made me think that there was no place for honest people in this field.
But one day, I realized and reminded myself that it was just the beginning of the journey, and even if I have seen a lot, I have to experience a lot more. Maybe there will be good times in the coming days. How can I decide to quit so early? That thought motivated me and brought me back on track, and I decided to keep moving ahead on my path.
Goals and dreams
My ambition is to see myself on the big screen and make my parents proud. Besides that, I want to become a well-known actor across the nation, and I believe that I would make this dream come true with my hard work and dedication.
Life beyond acting and modeling
Apart from modeling and acting, I am into art and craft. I love to use creativity to make decorative things at home. Also, I am fond of making this society a better place, and hence I do social work. I also serve the society with the team of “Change Vadodara Camp,” We provide primary education to the slum kids in Vadodara in possible areas.
Lessons from Pandemic
This pandemic was a rough time for many. Many people lost their loved ones, and we are lucky that we are fit and refined through this pandemic. After witnessing this pandemic situation, I realized that life is indeed excellent and precious. I want to appeal to people to take care of themselves and be safe because life is truly uncertain despite being precious. We had no idea what would happen to us the very next moment. So, wherever you are, whatever you have, find happiness in it and enjoy life. Be with your loved ones and cherish your moments with them.
A gentle reminder
To every reader, I would like to pass on a gentle reminder that does what your heart desires, but at the same time ensure that no one else is hurt due to your deeds. If you believe in yourself and strive towards achieving your goal, no one can stop you from achieving what you truly want in your life. And lastly, remember that it is essential to enjoy life focusing on the good. Helping the needy is also very important, and make sure you spread love and happiness throughout the world.
