Today’s story revolves around Krishna Sharma, who dared to choose a different path and became successful on his own. His belief in himself and this self-belief became his strength. Through this, he was able to succeed in his life. Let’s read his story.
Career and industries have significantly evolved. One can opt for so many options, but we still choose degree-based jobs over passion and creativity. Especially in India, it’s a norm to follow the traditional pattern of education and job. However, times have changed, and there are opportunities present in each industry. Still, breaking these stereotypes is a tedious task for today’s generation.
Krishna Sharma – My Story
I’m Krishna Sharma from Kolkata. My journey of becoming a model and fitness trainer started after I completed the 12th standard. I preferred doing Hotel Management, but my parents disagreed with me. They were not in support as they used to think that academic performance is everything in life. No one can be successful without passing with excellent grades.
For me, it was a waste of money and time. I never took academics seriously. I used to go to the gym in my free time. I loved working out and spending time in the gym.
I asked my instructor to guide me through this profession because I wanted to make it a career. He said that yes, the fitness industry had significantly evolved, and now there are ample opportunities available in this field. At that moment, I decided to take it forward.
I revealed it to my family, but they refused to support my decision. Somehow, I managed to pay the gym fee from my savings. The trainer Sagar Tamaskar in Chandannagar, helped me to join his fitness club. Initially, I worked there for free. In the gym, everything was manual, and nothing was technically updated. They told me to manage ordinary things. I learned a lot from experience.
Initially, it was challenging for me to learn and maintain everything. I was interested in cooking and hotel management, and suddenly I stepped into this profession. So I had to struggle more to keep up with the phase. I played Kabaddi, Kickboxing and did everything to shape my body. With time, I got used to it, and it carried on its own.
Later, they started paying me and represented me as the face of the organization. From here, I began to participate in multiple competitions.
Sangram Classic was the first bodybuilding competition I participated in. Firstly, I entered a competition. I held the sixth rank in it. Then I played on behalf of Hooghly District. I achieved the first position. After a while, I attended Mr. Jaipur’s session in a competition named Mr. Diamond Jaipur. I competed there and held the fifth rank.
After these competitions, I decided to participate in the Mr. India competition. However, money was my main concern as I knew I’d struggle to manage diet and expenses of supplements and other stuff.
Throughout the season, these expenses reached around 90k to 1 lakh. My grandmother had saved some money, and my father helped me create a happy environment. I was on a strict diet in which cutting diet and bulk diet are two fitness regime diets for bodybuilding. It included fruits like oranges, guavas, and boiled eatables.
While appearing for the Mr. India competition, I maintained a strict diet that involved no sugar. Just before the competition, I didn’t eat anything to perform empty stomach. Even I had stopped drinking water for the competition and replaced it with Mosambi juice to boost digestion, energy, and stamina. That particular competition completely changed my life, and it made me what I am today.
I have participated in various competitions, and I love that I’ve stabilized my career in the fitness industry.
This experience has taught me a lot, and I firmly believe that ‘Motivation comes from within. After a period, no one will come to motivate you. So it would help if you learned how to motivate yourself. You are you! Your choices can be different, so don’t care about the world. Nobody will come to help when you are in pain. They’ll always count on you when you have fame and fortune.’
