Prabhakar Alok has been someone who believes in following his heart even as a child. It became the main reason he chose a start-up business as his career, despite coming from a family that is into government services. Prabhakar’s Grandpa is a retired DSP, and his father is an income tax officer.
Naturally, his family pushed him towards engineering and encouraged him to take up Engineering Services with the government. It’s not just Prabhakar Alok’s family, though. It has always been the popular trend in Patna, Bihar, where he lived and grew up, to take government jobs and lead a secure life.
Prabhakar Alok wanted to set a new trend, so he told his family that he’d work in an area where his passion lies. Prabhakar has always been a good cricket player. He played in teams within and around Patna and even made some pocket money from it. As his passion for cricket grew, he started idealizing former Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Prabhakar Alok was so impressed by Dhoni, primarily by his attitude towards life, that he decided he’ll make it big in the world of cricket. However, his family’s lack of guidance and insistence pushed him away from cricket, and Prabhakar got busy pursuing B tech from VIT in Jaipur.
When Prabhakar Alok realized the popular opinion about people from Bihar, he was heartbroken. In discussion with a group, he realized that Biharis are viewed as the bad guys. He was shocked by the judgments that people hold about people of his state and city. He wanted to change this opinion and created a page called Humans of Bihar that features stories of achievers from that place. Only later, Prabhakar realized that there are other such pages like Humans of Bombay.
Prabhakar’s passion for his career compelled him to start working even before he could graduate. He worked for Gragotech. It is a start-up that looks into client needs, such as mobile app designing and website designing. He learned a lot while working here. While in college, Prabhakar believed that he could lead a comfortable life to earn at least ten thousand per month. But life had a different plan for him.
In the third year of his B tech, Prabhakar Alok came across the story of Ritesh Agarwal – the man behind OYO Hotels! Looking at someone, who is not more than 20 years old, makes it so prominent in the hospitality industry, Prabhakar Alok was tremendously inspired. He thought, “If he can do it, why can’t I?” This inspiration led to Prabhakar’s first start-up, where he used his app development skills and created My22Yards. It is an app that promotes local cricket players while informing interested app users about places where excellent cricket coaching is provided. Prabhakar wanted to give the world what he couldn’t have for himself.
Prabhakar Alok Digital Marketing Setup
But by sheer ill-luck, his first venture couldn’t be a success because of various reasons. This failure couldn’t stop him. In April 2018, Prabhakar Alok came up with a digital marketing company called DigiwaleBabu- Your Marketing Toolbox. Through this, Alok put his first step on the path of success. Today, he provides website development, SEO (on-page and off-page), content development, pay-per-click, email marketing, Google Analytics services, and more to clients spread across Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Dubai, along with his local clients.
Prabhakar Alok even went back to his former employer and offered his digital marketing services for 15 thousand rupees. Although his employer felt that this amount was too much, he saw the brand’s success and agreed to the decided amount. Surprisingly, he even paid an advance of a thousand rupees. Prabhakar was finally reaping the fruits of his hard work and enjoying success while supported by a partner who takes care of the website’s content. One particular day, he received an email from a young boy asking to be trained in digital marketing as he wanted to become like Prabhakar.
Prabhakar Alok was pleasantly surprised by this email and told the boy that he doesn’t have to become like him and can make it to the top on his own. When the number of such emails increased, Prabhakar decided to share his knowledge with others through DigitalGuruCool. It is a platform where interested students learn everything about digital marketing through informative blogs on these websites. Speaking in this context, Prabhakar narrates a sales boy who traditionally sold Patanjali products. When he learned digital marketing tricks through DigitalGuruCool, Prabhakar relates that the salesman’s business expanded five times. It is a proud moment for the teacher and the learner.
Prabhakar Alok has not only proved himself to the world but has given a flourishing career to many in the field of digital marketing. His success story is an ocean that has a pearl for anyone who dives in.
