Career guidance or professional guidance was never readily available to everyone. Even if there is someone who finds one, there is a lack in another. Not anymore! Quantel is the brainchild of a Serial Entrepreneur and an Engineer who met at NIT Kurukshetra and merged their unique ideas. The birth of Quantel has permanently solved the problem of students, internship seekers, and professionals looking for guidance. Quantel is a startup idea of Lucky Rohila (the Serial Entrepreneur) and Rishabh Garg (the Engineer) that unites mentors and mentees from various professions.
Career Guidance Was Just An Idea
Towards the end of 2019, when Lucky and Rishabh were still students, they were struck with an idea. The idea was to help seekers of experts for career guidance as well as professional guidance. The existing platforms didn’t seem to satisfy the diverse and growing needs of young students and future professionals—a more profound thought into what and how of the issue threw more light on their desired goal. However, even before the duo could take the first step, the pandemic was an obstacle. As the virus started spreading worldwide, Lucky and Rishabh could not meet people to share their idea and include others in them.
Making Career Guidance A Reality
Fortunately for them, things got better with time when people got the hang of working and interacting virtually. Now, the only thing left to do was find experts in various fields and connect them to their seekers. They had to fill the gap between students preparing to enter the big four and those who could help them achieve this. Time helped Lucky and Rishabh gain expertise in the matter. It took months of contemplation and a lot of interaction with possible stakeholders to implement their plan.
They were talking to students, professors, professionals, and researchers to understand their needs. After all the hard work, Lucky and Rishabh understood that online content loses relevance quickly. They had to do something to keep seekers constantly updated. Soon, they set up an office in Faridabad in Haryana, India, and were ready to connect mentors with mentees.
Things took a positive turn when they approached a few experts who readily agreed to provide career guidance or professional direction. It is when the duo began their concrete attempt to shorten the learning curve. They could now ensure that expert advice reaches each seeker of career guidance.
The Growth Of A Strong Team
Lucky’s active participation in many activities at college allowed him to connect with a lot of people. These connections later became the core team of Quantel – two founders, seven core members, and 32 team members. It began with initial funding of Rs.20,000. Now it has more than 50 beneficiaries and a student base of 10,000. Along with all this, the startup has a brand buzz in seven colleges all over India.
A Touch Of Uniqueness To Quantel
Quantel’s uniqueness lies in the fact that it is India’s most affordable platform that facilitates the best opportunities for stakeholders. Career guidance is available at its best in the most inexpensive manner. Their prices range from Rs. 200 to Rs for a 30 -40 minutes class with experts. Explaining the workflow, Lucky said that the user first picks their favorite expert aligning the requirement.
The next step is to check the availability of the expert and choose a preferred slot accordingly. Finally, they make a secure payment for a one-on-one session with the chosen expert. A successful payment will be followed by a Google meeting invite, after which the user can enjoy Quantel’s services.
Quantel goes by the Aggregator Business Model that distributes the charged amount among partners. They call themselves a bootstrapped startups relying only on personal savings and a lot of luck. By 2021 Lucky Rohila, Rishabh Garg, and their team hope to reach out to as many people as possible and affect them positively.
Through their journey, they wish to tell the world that no investment is small if you dare to take the first step. Be it career guidance, professional guidance, or anything else, it is all achievable. Just dare to dream big.
