Being a travel consultant and a travel blogger, Romit Ranjan speaks about the experience of traveling across 26 of 29 states in India. It is very inspiring as he excitedly narrates his story of becoming a travel consultant- a rare and fulfilling profession at the same time. Having traveled the length and breadth of India, Romit speaks about embracing an overwhelming variety of cultures and cuisines.
Romit Ranjan – The Traveler!
Romit hails from Bihar, and he came to Delhi for further studies. His days at Jawaharlal Nehru University made him realize that he was someone who wanted to shape his career. Romit started an early career and found himself making a secure place in the tourism industry by working for big names like Make My Trip, Cox and Kings, and Thomas Cook. After having worked for India’s big names in the tourism sector for almost a decade, Romit says he felt very detached, not only from his family but from society as a whole.
Romit Ranjan – The Boss!
Then, it occurred to Romit that he should start a travel agency of his own, which will allow him to explore the world while being his boss. The idea of owning his passion triggered the creation of the Pahun Holidays in 2017. Romit proudly explains the meaning of the unique name and the reason behind choosing it. Pahun is a word that originates in Bihar and is used to describe the son-in-law, who is considered the most critical guest. The idea is to treat every client who associates with the agency as an exceptional guest and is deeply rooted in the concept of Athithi Devo Bhava (Guest is God).
It gave Romit a lot more time to reconnect with his people and give back to society in his way. While he was always connected to society through social media, he couldn’t devote as much time as he liked to. Still, Pahun Holidays allowed him to live his dream and balance his social responsibility and his passion.
Romit Ranjan – The Nature Lover!
Romit’s concern for nature and its well-being made him a part of the environmentalists club in JNU. It extended to being a member of No Earth B, a plastic removal campaign in Delhi. It is a coming together of nature-loving people like Romit himself. He was particularly interested in the upliftment and betterment of Bihar that is left behind in many aspects. He participated in awareness programs that will help people live a better and environmentally conscious life.
While successfully running PAHUN HOLIDAYS & HOSPITALITY PRIVATE LIMITED., Romit also takes the responsibility of travel education through a company called Trip to Click. They organize group tours for students at affordable prices. With so much in hand, Romit seems to be having the best time of his life. Let’s wish him the best for his travel adventures in the future.
