Hey lovelies, here we are with a new story, a new pain, a new rise, and a new inspiration. Today’s story is of Snehil Goenka’s, a perfect guy-next-door 23-year-old soul who loves his family and friends unconditionally.
But, Snehil wasn’t always a guy-next-door. Instead, his family comes from a royalty line of UP, his family was one of the most powerful influences of their times, and his father was the most eligible bachelor. Still, just like the movies, there’s a twist in every story. Here the twist was his father’s want to “not ever get married,” but as much as his father was a free soul, he couldn’t fight his family and finally got married. Snehil has one elder sibling, a brother, and now lives with his mother and brother in Ahmedabad.
Snehil Goenka – His Story
Snehil’s childhood was a pampered, lavish dream come true of his life. Unlike many Indian families, Snehil’s family always wanted a daughter as a younger sibling for Snehil’s brother. Still, when Snehil was born, his family was disappointed and denied acceptance to Snehil as a part of their life.
Unfortunately, Snehil’s parents failed to make their family realize how beautiful their newborn son is. Instead, the family forced them to give up Snehil and try for a daughter again, but Snehil’s mother’s determination ensured that Snehil was never taken away from her. As a result, Snehil’s parents and his brother had to move to the city of Ahmedabad, away from their family, to live in peace. Snehil’s childhood was in accordance to him very lavish and decadent; with a good ivy school, he was always a part of the elite side of the city.
But, as I listened to him talk about his school was, I noticed he wasn’t talking much about his family. Instead, he said nothing at all. But why? I thought to myself that he wasn’t sharing his family life while he was so open about the other aspects of his life.
And finally, I knew the answer to my “why,” unlike his other life aspects, his household was down a drain. Not only was the environment toxic, but he was made to believe that this toxicity is normal, that this pain is what his mother needs to go through, that this is how a family is supposed to be.
Fighting and quarreling almost every minute of every day, Snehil’s parents tried hard not to let this affect their children. Still, they did not realize that as many steps a parent takes to hide their feelings, it is almost impossible to hide their true sufferings from their children. In his teens, when he saw other families, met with the outside world, opened his eyes, and could see the pain that his parents were living through, but as much as he could see this pain, he couldn’t do anything about it.
Through his teens, not only did he have to see his parents go through a rough patch, but he also had to deal with a piece of painful news about his father’s health. While in high school, he got the news about how his father was diagnosed with throat cancer. Watching his father go through all of it and watching his mother suffer from his father was a painful turn in his life.
But this pain, this ache, made him realize how his mother is the toughest of all souls he has ever met; he could see that even though in pain, his mother never left his father’s side and that love conquers it all. Maybe, because of this, Snehil, despite being a logical mind, always believed in love.
Snehil found support in his uncle’s way of life through the pains, aches, and twists and turns. Snehil’s uncle, his father’s younger brother, has always been there for him and his family. When they first moved to the city of Ahmedabad, his uncle helped his father with the setting-up of the business and helped his family comfortably settle down in an unknown city. When his father was diagnosed with cancer, his uncle was the shoulder that offered Snehil support that he had missed all his life.
His uncle didn’t only help him grow, educate himself, and evolve into a beautiful human being today. More than an uncle, he is a friend to Snehil. Till today, he is the one pair of ears that are always ready to listen to his problems and provide a solution that works for him the best way.
After Snehil’s father was diagnosed with cancer, not only did the household fall onto Snehil’s shoulders, but the business was now his worry. His father made sure that he understood everything about the business before his father had to leave them alone in this world. Snehil and his father always had a bumpy relationship, but Snehil wanted to make his father accept him and be proud of him.
But with time, not only did the distance between them increase day by day, but Snehil grew out to be indifferent to what his father had to say about anything. Snehil’s life story belongs to all of the people he has lived it with, and that majorly is believed to be his parents and brother. He never had many friends and often found himself to be a loner throughout all his life.
Snehil Goenka presently lives with his mother and brother, with his uncle in-and-out of his life (but always there when he needs him). He handles his father’s business with his uncle’s help and is determined to build a world for his mother and his brother that is both beautiful and safe. For him, strength is his love for his family, which he believes and accepts as his one true driving force.
Today’s story is nothing but the toughness with what we need to at times fight with life itself, to survive becomes the only purpose of life, and we need you to know it is okay, it is okay not to be okay, it is okay to take a break for yourself from the pain that life at times become.
