Pooja Motwani started as a fashion designer back in 2004 and has been excellently contributing to the field. Her beautiful work has been recognized not only in India but also in other parts of the world.

Once we notice someone, after their presence and looks, the thing that catches our attention is their sense of fashion. Fashion is ever-increasingly adding importance to human lives. The way fashion has evolved throughout humanity is indeed marveling. From the garments used by human beings centuries ago, made of twigs, leaves, and sticks, to finely fabricated clothing made from various materials and used for a range of occasions, fashion has truly become inseparable from human lives. In this era, we need more fantastic fashion designers who would create lovely designs and guide us to choose the designs that would enhance our appearance and suit the occasion.

Pooja Motwani has always been optimistic and always wanted to do something different from the crowd. Starting at the age of seventeen, it was her optimism that kept her motivated. Let’s hear her life story.

Pooja Motwani – My Story

My journey has indeed been remarkable, of course, with lots of ups and downs. I developed a keen interest in fashion from a very young age, as my dad was into the clothing line, and I had been surrounded by fabrics all my life. That is how I got interested in fashion designing and decided to take a step ahead in this fantastic field. Fashion means everything to me, and I always follow what I like.

It is how the roots of the brand ‘Pooja Motwani De$!ner’ began to emerge. My culture deeply inspires my sense of fashion and my work. I create my designs following the Sindhi culture. I use the Ajrak blocks for fabricating various garments like dresses, lehengas, and one-pieces. Taking a step ahead in this lockdown, I even designed masks using Ajrak blocks.

Before being an entrepreneur, I lived a pretty everyday life. But after initiating the brand ‘Pooja Motwani De$!ner’, now I have lots and lots of responsibilities to undertake. My most significant responsibility as an entrepreneur is fulfilling commitments and ensuring the happiness of my customers.

I am delighted with what I have been doing. Life is not easy, but things gradually seem more manageable when one keeps up their optimism and can attain their goal. I entered into the field of fashion designing to ensure that my work reaches a global level. That goal is now fulfilled as I have done exhibitions in 16 countries multiple times. My current goal is to open my brand franchise globally.

My journey wasn’t a smooth ride. There were several hurdles in my way, but I would like to mention that I suffered enormous losses for giving business credit. Hence, I now firmly deny giving any business credit. Also, I am a supporter and a giver, so I always believe in giving, but sometimes people don’t recognize your efforts and fail to appreciate what they’ve received. These hurdles taught me that life goes on, and we can’t change ourselves and others. Overcoming the hurdles isn’t an easy task, but one has to come out of that by thinking positively and doing new things.

To be successful as an entrepreneur, one needs to have a positive vision, followed by a sharp focus, and be great at maintaining commitments. They should provide the best services, and most importantly, they should have a strong belief in themselves. Also, I would like to tell them, ‘Never Give Up! Keep using polite words like sorry and please wherever they are necessary as using these kind gestures would help them a lot in life.

Have gratitude for everything that you have, for everything good that’s going on. Being thankful is one of the most self-empowering factors in our life. Lastly, be optimistic but also aware of the harsh reality. Sometimes people are mean, and they would intend to use you. Thus, we should respect and accept reality and reason from various walks of life to be successful.

Through my social work, I actively strive for women’s empowerment and have assisted many young women in establishing their businesses till today. Also, I work for providing aid to the people who have suffered as a result of disasters. I am part of an organization that goes by the name ‘Rahat Aid foundation.’

We are a group of friends who are always ready to support any cause. Our prime focus is helping the areas hit by earthquakes and floods. I feel that we should be supportive towards each other and help each other in times of crisis. For my work, I have received recognition several times. I have received the ‘seva puraskar’ award. Recently, Pooja Motwani was honored with the ‘nari puraskar’ award, and there are some more additions to the list. Also, I have been organizing the empowering women award. Our team is also active during the COVID time by trying to feed the needy and has provided ration to 3000 families.

Apart from my fashion designing brand and social work, I am the owner of other brands like ‘Moh essentials,’ ‘My Rajasthan Concepts,’ and ‘Snap travels.’ My time is usually engaged in offering help in one way or another, which keeps me busy. I am a fan of EDM music, and that is something that offers me happiness. Also, I am not a daily soaps lover, but I started to watch some Netflix series during the lockdown.

The pandemic times had a powerful message for me: ‘only your family is yours, no one else’s. Times have been difficult, but we do have to live since we have got this beautiful life. Moreover, making our beautiful life more beautiful is only in our hands.’

The ideas that Pooja Motwani shares through her story and her work are very precious. As a fashion designer and entrepreneur, she is successful, but she shines as a philanthropist. Through her work, she is spreading the rich and traditional culture throughout the world. Pooja Motwani shares the message of not letting down our optimistic side even during difficult times and seeing to it that we give it our hundred percent whatever we do. From here, we learn and get inspired to support each other during difficult times.
