Team Rangrut was initially a thought process that struck Anukriti, Pramod, and a few other beautiful human beings. All of them were pursuing their graduation at that time. They felt the need for a change in society and had a similar opinion about what needed change. Thus, the Rangrut Community came into being. Khushboo and Anukriti were childhood friends, and Khushboo joined the Rangrut Community too.
Team Rangrut – passion for serving society
Initially, when Rangrut was operating part-time, the members did not have a clear path in their minds. They were clueless about how they should proceed. Even though there were many questions, Team Rangrut was enthusiastic about working towards their common goal. This instinct and determination drove them to bring a change in society and do something unique with their lives.
The members of Team Rangrut are located in various cities across India. Everybody in the team had a powerful feeling towards social work. Generally, people believe that once they achieve something in life and are settled enough, they will contribute to society. They often wait for the perfect time to be more active and engaged in social work.
But in Rangrut, the thought was that if they keep waiting for the right moment to arrive, it will either be too late, or it might not happen at all. Moreover, to engage in social work, there is no mandatory requirement of wealth. One can be of service without paying or donating. And that’s precisely what they wished to do.
The first project they started working on was for transgender people. They interacted with a few people from that community. This project was the building block for the Rangrut Community, and from that day, they never looked back. They wanted to gain awareness about the problems that transgender people faced and spread awareness about them. They also worked on the ‘Under the Bridge’ project in collaboration with another NGO. Eventually, they started their solo project initiatives as Team Rangrut. Their first solo projects include ‘Project Wisdom’ and ‘Project Life Skill.’
Later, the Rangrut Community started its initiative near the Yamuna Bank Metro Station. There is a small area there where Team Rangrut began teaching children. From there, they picked up another location at Sector 42, Noida, but it stopped midway. The same happened with a third location, and it was called off due to some reason. One of the biggest and most successful projects of Rangrut was ‘Project Parivartan,’ which had multiple mini-projects under it. It brought a lot of awareness, and more and more people started approaching Rangrut.
The biggest challenge arrived when COVID-19 hit the country hard. Things were shifting to digital platforms quickly, and there was a total lockdown. The community had to look for various alternatives to stay functional during those hard times.
This problem has persisted with the arrival of the second wave, and Team Rangrut is still fighting with it. With the motto to keep moving and witnessing the change, the community is still motivated to grow continuously.
The prime source of motivation for the Rangrut Community is their volunteers, who have brought a spark to the entire team by never giving up. Secondly, the recognition, love, and admiration people have showered on them via social media and in-person has motivated them every day. The family of each member was supportive, and this made their journey smoother and more fulfilling.
Team Rangrut believes that, in the end, it’s all about humanity, and everyone should be united to get rid of the bias that has surrounded our country for a long time. People should stop hating each other and live in unity because it’s only together that we rise.
