“Today’s tears water tomorrow’s gardens.” – Matshona Dhliwayo. The quote means if you work hard today, then only you can have a good life tomorrow. If I elaborate, it means everyone wants to have a good and luxurious life, but only some are ready for the struggle. There is a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between dreams and success. Today we introduce you to S.P Singh, a 43-year-old farmer son who fought all the battles vigorously, and today, he is a successful Businessman.

Farmer Son to Businessman – S.P.Singh – My Story

I was born in a farmer’s family in Bihar. My father was a small farmer there, and I lived there for many years. I did farming as my father taught me to do. I went to a government school in my village. Still, I couldn’t focus much on my studies because no one knew the importance of education, but gradually I thought of going out from my village to a slightly better atmosphere to get exposure.

So I went to Darbhanga when I was 14yrs old to study further, and as I expected, I got great exposure. I met new people, made new friends, and got to know many new things. But that got limited at one point. I had no further growth if I lived there. So I thought of moving out from there.

After some time, I moved to Patna, the capital of Bihar. I was 18yrs old at that time. I got a small room in which eight boys lived together. It was pretty congested, and today I can’t even imagine how I lived there. But anyway, my focus was to be better and work on myself.

I was also trying my luck in many government jobs like railway and SSC. I had many problems while traveling because my exam center was very far and I didn’t have enough money. I used to be on the train for three days sometimes. It was challenging and complex. And I also wasn’t able to clear entrance exams because I couldn’t take proper coaching. I lost confidence many times, but I didn’t give up, and I also believed destiny had different plans for me.

Eventually, after a few years, I got married, and I had responsibilities. That’s why I thought now I indeed have to do something, so I moved to Delhi, the capital of India. I worked at many places, and my first earning was two thousand rupees from a courier company, but two thousand could not do any good.

So I thought of taking a risk and opening my own courier company, and by God’s grace, it did well to me. I took my first flat in Delhi and my first car. And I brought my family from Bihar to Delhi. The room was small, and at that time, that was my luxury and the happiest thing. I was able to give my children a good education and give them a better life.

But I always wanted more for myself and my family. There is nothing in being greedy and wanting more for yourself until you are not doing anything wrong. It’s okay to have the whole cake and eat too. I ask everyone to be ambitious, be greedy, take risks, and of course, hard work is the key. I worked hard, and I took another bigger house and was at a good location. So then we moved there. Everything was going well.

Initially, I had a domestic courier company. But my mind keeps on working on getting more and better every day so I, on the other hand, was trying to open my own international import and export company for a long time and finally I got a license for my own company. After that, I left the domestic courier, and I started working on my company. Today I have an associate company in London. And now I am also trying to open my own company there. I hope with god grace that will happen soon.

Now, at last, I would like to say it was nothing like I was not happy with my village life. I was happy then also, and I am happy today also. I am, and I was always grateful to God for whatever he gave me. I took it with a smile because all those struggles were for my good. He was training me and taking my test to see if I was capable enough for this life. And today, with complete confidence, I can say yes, I was worthy enough for this life. That’s why God gave me this. So, don’t be afraid of struggles because the sun also burns to shine.

Apart from being a businessman, I also love to play cricket every Sunday, so I have a good team. I believe in my career. One should also take care of one’s physical and mental health. It is an essential part of your life. If you are not fit, how will you face the obstacles? So, I take care of my health because, of course, health is wealth. I also like long road detox trips to somewhere.

I feel everyone should take a break whenever they feel like it and go somewhere to relax. For me, the mountains are my relaxing destination, and I feel peaceful there. You can find your favorite destination and go there, but you surely should take a break to get back your energy and bounce back with total energy.

To someone trying to achieve a better life, I would like to say that it’s not a piece of cake. It would be best if you had the guts to achieve it. It would be best if you had the guts to face any situation. And with the competition going up the hard work has increased hundred times.

At present, if you want to achieve something, you have to prove that you are capable enough to get that job and make the person believe in you. You have to do hard work, be consistent, and be clear about what you want. And you will have many distractions at that moment. People will try to pull you down, so don’t let it affect you. You go on your road of hard work, and success will follow.
